Shivam Chandel

Shivam Chandel is a researcher at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden, focusing on the development of stem cell-derived islets as a potential cell-based therapy for diabetes and for disease modeling. He earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) India, where his research focused on endothelial function and dysfunction under physiological and pathophysiological conditions, with a particular focus on prediabetes. His research interests include diabetes, vascular biology, regenerative medicine, stem cell based therapies and disease modelling.

At GIST Sweden, he is working to build a network across STEM community.
